Exciting Field Trips Planned by the Sabbatical Team

BY

As printed in the May 2011 issue of Echoes:

To help us explore a bit of what Dee might experience during her summer sabbatical travels, the COTH Sabbatical Team is offering a one-day field trip to the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center in Divide. We will leave mid-morning on Saturday, May 14, from the church, stop for lunch in Deckers, then go on to the Center for a 2:00 p.m. walking tour of the rescued wolves, fox, and coyotes.

The walking tour portion of the field trip is suitable for all ages and the $10/person fee will be covered by the Lilly Endowment grant fund. In addition to the walking tour, anyone 18 years and older may participate, optionally, in the VIP tour, which allows us into the wildlife enclosures for up-close and personal interaction with the wolves, and possibly fox. Wolf kisses and fox curling up in your lap are common on this tour! The cost for the additional VIP tour will be determined when a total participation count is obtained, but will be in the $55-$60 range. Don’t forget your cameras! We should be back in Evergreen no later than 7:00 p.m. that evening.

For more information, visit the CWWC website: www.wolfeducation.org or contact Kelly Krueger at 303-670-8406 or [email protected]. Additional info is also available on the Sabbatical table in the Narthex. RSVP deadline is May 6th and we would love to have you join the group for this trip.

Stay tuned for further details about a fun “peak” experience that is being planned for August to coincide with Dee’s summit of Kilimanjaro.
